No Words in English: A Novel. St. Cloud, MN: North Star Press of St. Cloud, 1999.
This book tells the story of a young immigrant girl who has just immigrated with
her family from Finland to Canada. The title of the story reflects how discerning
words in the seemingly garbled sounds of a foreign language can be very difficult,
but this difficulty is only the first faced by six-year-old Anna through whose eyes
the story unfolds.
